Biodiesel Industries Opens New Plant in Denton, TX
The National Biodiesel Board (NBB) recently announced that Biodiesel
Industries, Inc. and the city of Denton, TX opened earlier this week
a new biodiesel plant powered entirely by biogas from the city
landfill.
According to NBB, Biodiesel Industries and city officials
coordinated efforts throughout the project.
NBB noted that feedstock for the plant will include used cooking oil
from local restaurants and farm refuse.
"Not only is the product better for the environment, but so is the
production process," said NBB executive director Joe Jobe.
NBB said Denton has committed to using B20, a fuel blend of 20
percent biodiesel and 80 percent standard petroleum diesel, from the
plant in its diesel vehicle fleet, with additional sales to be made
through regional distribution channels.
